Stages of National Police Clearance Application

In order to get police clearance in the Philippines, you have to go through six stages of the application process. If you complete all stages successfully, only then you will get your police clearance certificate.

In order to apply online for police clearance, you have to register yourself at PNP Clearance website. After successful registration, you must login to submit an online application for police clearance at PNP Clearance website.

The online registration, login and clearance application require your Civil ID Number, Civil ID Serial Number, Email, Mobile Number and other personal details. Thereafter you need to book an online appointment for police station visit, let us understand how to do it.

How to Book Police Clearance Online Appointment

Before you proceed to book police clearance online appointment at PNP Clearance portal, make sure that you have completed online registration process.

#Step 1: Login to PNP Clearance Portal

Go to PNP Clearance website portal @pnpclearance.ph and click on LOGIN. Verify that you are a human to open the login page. Enter your Civil ID Number and Password to login to your account.

#Step 2: Edit Profile and Update Information

On the User Dashboard, click on Edit Profile to view and edit your personal information. Check all the information carefully and update the information if needed.

You should check the box if you are a PwD (person with disability) or tick the other box if you are an FTJS (first time job seeker). Because these two categories people don’t need to pay the fee to get police clearance.

#Step 3: Click on Clearance Application

On the dashboard, click on Clearance Application given in blue color to start the police clearance online application process. If needed, please provide any additional information required for clearance application to continue to police clearance appointment page.

#Step 4: Select Appointment Purpose and Police Station

To book your appointment, you must select your appointment purpose e.g. General. Then you need to select a police station where you want to visit for fingerprint and photo capture for police clearance. Please select a police station that is nearby your location so that you can get there on time at a low cost of traveling.

#Step 5: Choose Appointment Date and Time

You should choose your suitable date and time slot for police clearance appointment at your preferred police station. After selecting the appointment date and time, click on Next button.

#Step 6: Select Payment Option and Save Appointment

There are many payment options available for police clearance fee payment. You should choose a payment option that is convenient for you and then click on Save Appointment to continue.

#Step 7: Save the Reference Number

As you click on Save Appointment, the Payment Page will appear on screen. Here you can see the Unique Reference Number in red color. Please save this reference number as you will need to submit this number at the police station when you visit it for your photo and fingerprint capture.

#Step 8: Pay the Fees to Set Appointment

You must pay the fees online or offline with your selected payment method. You have to make payment and wait for the payment process to get completed and your fee payment receipt to appear on screen.

#Step 9: Print Payment Receipt

Print the payment receipt as you need to show it at the police station on the appointment day.

Note: You must pay the fee to set your police clearance appointment at your selected police station. If you fail to pay the fee, your appointment will not be booked and your police clearance application will not process further.

Police Clearance Appointment Fees

In order to set appointment for police clearance, you have to pay the fees of ₱ 150. Depending upon your payment method, the bank or mediator finance company may take the transaction charge of up to ₱ 10 for police clearance appointment fee payment.

So, you have to pay ₱ 150 + ₱ 10 = ₱ 160 in total. The fee payment is mandatory to set and confirm your appointment for police clearance.

Exemption from Police Clearance Fees

The Philippine Police offer exemption from police clearance fees to the people of determination (people with disability) and first time job seekers. So, if you are in one of these two categories, you do not need to pay any fee to get police clearance in Philippines.

Please note that the people with disability (PwD) are eligible to get police clearance fee exemption every time they apply for it. On the other hand, the first time job seekers (FTJS) can get the fee exemption for one time only.

How to Get Police Clearance Fee Exemption

In order to get police clearance fee exemption, you must tick the box given for PwD or FTJS as applicable for you during police clearance application online process. It will eliminate the fee payment option but all the rules for police clearance application will remain the same for you.

If you tick the PwD box for fee exemption for person with disability, you have to provide your PWD ID Number in police clearance application.

Police Clearance Appointment Requirements

When you visit your selected police station for your police clearance appointment, you must carry the required documents. Here I provide the national police clearance appointment requirements as under;

After you register fingerprints, photo and signature at the police station, you will need to wait for some minutes. The police service employees will check your face, biometrics data and name in their entire criminal records database.

Within a few minutes, a service employee will call you to the desk to collect your police clearance certificate.

Your police clearance application may require more documents and further verification if your photo or biometrics match with any criminal in the records of Philippine Police. In that case, you need to wait for several days to receive your police clearance certificate.
